Cactus Portrait II

$1,600.00

oil on panel, 18”x24”

2024

This painting was inspired by the resilience of my own personal cactus. I found an arm of a cactus a few years back that had fallen from the mother plant. I took the severed cactus home and stuck it in a pot with some dirt. Over the course of a year, the cactus was stagnant. It showed no signs of growth, and even began to rot a bit. After continuous watering and fertilizing, 16 months later, the cactus shot out new growth. In the years to come, the single fallen segment of cactus has turned into a flourishing mature cactus. I found this botanical journey extremely relevant to the human experience.

Growth often starts beneath the surface, continue to show care for yourself and you too will eventually see the tangible growth for yourself.

Shipping/local delivery is available. Shipping costs will be added on after the purchase to accommodate the size of the painting and the end destination.
